I recently was invited to participate in an event called Poetry In Transit, where poets read their work on a city bus. In previous years the city has partnered with bands to play on busses. It’s a cool thing to amplify the arts. In celebration of it I created a new zine that features a short essay, a haiku poem, and a 12 track mix tape playlist with songs all pertaining to public transport.
I think it turned out great. I created it in an actual cd case and then made the zine to look like it was the cd case you were opening to read. The formatting was tricky but I love how quirky it turned out. I took the cover photo in Wicker Park, Chicago near the Quimby’s zine store. I’ll keep some of it a mystery but below is the track list!
